Hillcrest Lodge #1318

On Saturday June 28th Hillcrest installed the new officers for 2008-09 year. The lodge was opened to friends and family. Following the installation there was a reception at the home of the new Worshipful Master, Stewart Mason. Past Master Steve Gooch can now breath easy.

Brother Jake Golvach was raised the degree of a Master Mason on June 10th, 2008. Jake recently graduated from Baylor University and will be moving to Austin.

Hillcrest Lodge will presented the Community Builders Award to Dr. Paul Benson at the Dallas Masonic Service Bureau meeting Tuesday, May 27 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Dinner was at 6:30 and the meeting started at 7:15 in the Blue Lodge Room. The meeting was open.

Professor Mark A. Chancey, Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at Southern Methodist University, is the recipient of the Lamar Award presented by Hillcrest Lodge on April 11. Hillcrest joined seventeen other lodges for a Lamar Honors Evening sponsored by the 14th Masonic District Masters, Wardens, and Secretaries Association and hosted at the Dallas Scottish Rite Cathedral. Valley of Dallas Chairman Wendell Miller and General Secretary Ed Kirkpatrick along with the Cooks and Busboys Committees provided a great dinner and outstanding service.
