Dan Brown's new novel, The Lost Symbol, will be published September 15, 2009. There has been numerous speculation that the plot will revolve around Freemasonry and take place in Washington D.C. Dan Brown's official website offers sparse details other than the book will feature the character Robert Langdon, the protagonist of Angels & Demons and The Da Vinci Code.

The Guardian has an article here that mentions that Dan Brown has spent five years researching his new novel. Random House now has a website for Robert Langdon, professor of Religious Symbology at Harvard. According to Wikipedia, The Da Vinci Code has 60.5 million copies in print and was made into a movie starring Tom Hanks. Angels & Demons was also a best seller and the movie adaptation will be released this summer.
